Our representative meets you at the Wadi Rum Visitor’s Center to assist in your transfer to Rum Village, where your 4x4 tour begins with one of our professional driver guides. A half day’s tour covers a minimum of 5 sites. The number of sites covered depends on the pace that you choose.
Your day 1 ends in our fixed camp, where you may watch the sunset, go for a wander or relax around the campfire with a cup of tea, before enjoying a traditional Bedouin dinner. After your meal, conversation often lingers late around the fire, as we gaze up at the magnificent night sky. Your guides can also be convinced to share Bedouin songs and stories…
After a traditional breakfast, we’ll escort you back to Rum Village for transport to your next adventure!
A camel transfer back to the village is a great option at 30 JD per guest for a 2 - 3 hour ride, arriving after 11:00 am.
Arrive before 5 pm, the evening before your tour and stay an extra night at only 20 JD more per guest.
Sights on the half day tour include:
Lawrence Spring – clamber up to the mountain spring from which Lawrence is reputed to have drunk
Red Sand Dune climb – a good workout to climb up and even more fun to run down!
Khazali Canyon – a deep fissure in the red sandstone Khazali Mountain – decorated with a variety of ancient rock art
Cow Rock – it’s got two legs and a round body! A great area to climb and look out over the desert
Small Rock Bridge - an easy climb in a stunning part of the desert
Time permitting, your guides may include one or more of the following:
Anfashiyeh inscriptions – rock art along the ancient caravan route to Mecca
‘Lawrence House’ – find out the real story of this ancient stone structure!
Big Red Sand Dune – an impressive dune – climbing it is not for the faint of heart!
